Senior Embedded Linux, Yocto Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain software for Embedded Linux platforms.

• Create, modify, and manage Linux distributions utilizing Yocto / BitBake.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate issues spanning application, operating system, and hardware layers.

• Contribute to system integration, software deployment, and platform adaptation.

• Design, create, and maintain software components using C++.

• Engage in technical design and architectural discussions.

• Assess technical requirements and suggest efficient solutions.

• Work collaboratively with hardware and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Assume responsibility for technical subjects and lead them independently.

• Promote the ongoing enhancement of software quality, reliability, and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Embedded Linux development.

• Proficiency in building and customizing Embedded Linux distributions with Yocto.

• Extensive commercial experience with C++.

• Proven ability to debug and resolve complex system-level challenges.

• Capability to work across software, operating system, and hardware layers.

• Proficient English communication skills.

• Commercial experience with MQTT (considered a strong advantage).

• Familiarity with OTA / Firmware Update solutions (strong advantage).

• Understanding of Secure Boot and device security concepts (strong advantage).

• Experience with Device Tree (strong advantage).

• Knowledge of Kernel configuration and/or BSP customization (strong advantage).

• Experience with ARM-based platforms (strong advantage).

• Skills in Python scripting and automation (nice to have).

• Background in Connected Devices, IoT products, Smart Appliances, or Consumer Electronics (nice to have).

• Understanding of software architecture and design principles (nice to have).

• Experience in international product development teams (nice to have).

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes for Embedded Linux environments (nice to have).
