Software Development Engineer – MEX P4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and scale cloud-native backend services and APIs on AWS that manage high-frequency sensor and time-series data.

• Construct and refine data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for large-scale, near real-time data ingestion and processing.

• Play a pivotal role in delivering AI/ML-driven features by developing the backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs that introduce intelligent functionalities into production.

• Take ownership of features from design to production, including monitoring, reliability, and iterative improvements.

• Identify and address bottlenecks in data flow, query performance, and service interactions.

• Develop backend infrastructure that facilitates ML model serving, feature pipelines, and feedback loops for predictive alerting.

• Utilize AI-assisted development techniques to enhance design, implementation, and code quality across backend services and pipelines.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and AI/ML teams to ensure seamless integration across services and platforms.

• Elevate the technical standard through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of peers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in building and deploying large-scale backend systems in a production environment.

• Practical experience with data pipelines and streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar).

• Familiarity with time-series data, including storage, querying, or analytics at scale.

• Strong expertise in AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis, DynamoDB).

• Proficient in systems design across distributed and event-driven architectures.

• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, including the development of systems that support model serving or integration.

• Experience with Snowflake or a comparable data warehouse.

• Strong skills in observability and production debugging.
