This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Establish and oversee the comprehensive automated testing strategy for web portals and backend microservices, ensuring a balance between UI, API, contract, integration, and end-to-end coverage.
• Create testing strategies for distributed, event-driven systems, encompassing asynchronous SNS/SQS flows, eventual consistency, idempotency, message ordering, retries, and dead-letter handling.
• Build and sustain web and API test automation frameworks utilizing Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Automate API and service-level testing for REST/JSON and asynchronous messaging protocols.
• Develop scalable framework abstractions, including page objects, fixtures, data builders, and reusable test harnesses.
• Design tests for services hosted on ECS, EKS, and Lambda, which includes environment provisioning and decommissioning.
• Utilize TestContainers and LocalStack for local testing of AWS integrations.
• Lead performance, load, resilience, security, reliability, and chaos/failure-injection testing efforts.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines while enhancing test reliability, execution time, parallel execution, and observability.
• Establish and monitor quality metrics such as coverage, escape rate, MTTR, and flake rate.
• Utilize LLM-based tools to streamline test authoring, framework development, test data generation, debugging, failure triage, code review, and boilerplate scaffolding.
• Advocate for responsible AI adoption within the QA team and guide engineers on the effective utilization of AI tools.
• Collaborate with developers, review application and test code, and resolve issues promptly.
• Mentor and elevate the skills of SDE-II/III QA engineers.
• Influence design and architecture discussions to enhance testability and promote early quality integration.
• Assess and implement new testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Proficient programming skills in Java (Spring Boot ecosystem) and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium for web automation tasks.
• Demonstrated experience in testing microservices and API-based systems, including asynchronous/event-driven architectures like SNS/SQS or equivalent messaging systems.
• Background in testing cloud-native applications on AWS, including ECS, EKS, and Lambda services.
• Familiarity with containers/Docker and Kubernetes technologies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, test integration, and quality gates in pipelines.
• Experience in performance/load testing and non-functional quality assessments.
• Proficient with API automation tools such as Postman or REST-assured, along with a solid understanding of REST APIs.
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems and scripting capabilities.
• A problem-solving attitude, keen attention to detail, and the ability to drive quality decisions and mentor others effectively.
• Practical experience using LLM/AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with contract testing, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability tools, identity verification/KYC/AML, and LLM/AI-powered features is advantageous.
