This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Create and document both technical and functional specifications utilizing tools like flowcharts, ER diagrams, and pseudocode.
• Design, test, and integrate high-quality software adhering to contemporary engineering standards and automated tools.
• Evaluate and refactor current code to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Assess and improve existing applications to satisfy changing business needs.
• Assist in migration efforts from legacy systems to contemporary platforms.
• Act as a subject matter expert for the internally developed Virtual LIMS (Lab Information Management System).
• Provide support for production environments, including Tier-3 troubleshooting and occasional after-hours support, including on-call duties.
• Follow enterprise development standards and best practices.
• Acquire and apply knowledge of laboratory operations and clinical workflows to assist in system design and functionality.
• Contribute both as an individual performer and a technical subject matter expert, offering guidance to junior engineers when necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree with 7 or more years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• PhD.
• Proficiency in .NET technologies, including .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, RIA Services, and Entity Framework.
• Strong skills in database design and query writing using SQL Server or RDBMS systems.
• Experience in API development and microservices architecture, including Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native applications.
• Knowledge of distributed application design and development using Kafka/MQ/RabbitMQ or related technologies.
• Capacity to support Tier-3 production issues, including occasional off-hours support.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Practical experience with version control and CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
• Previous experience in Agile development environments with the ability to adjust to a fast-paced delivery schedule.
