Software Development Engineer II, Search Box

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Developing and executing search retrieval algorithms across various search engines

• Enhancing the efficiency and performance of existing algorithms

• Composing technical design documentation and engaging in design and code evaluations

• Taking ownership of the efficiency and accuracy of your designs, while also managing your work throughout the development and implementation phases to achieve outstanding results

• Collaborating with fellow engineers, project managers, and teams globally and across functions to provide a high-quality experience for our customers

• Fostering a culture of operational excellence by thoroughly testing and monitoring our systems and code, and being available/on-call to ensure the health of our services

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong comprehension of search methodologies (such as information retrieval) and data structures

• Hands-on experience in optimizing algorithms for efficient performance upon deployment

• Capability to develop sophisticated, high-performance, and dependable solutions

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, emphasizing a scientific approach through experimentation and critical thinking to drive and verify high-quality solutions

• Proficient communication skills in English, with an emphasis on listening to others and conveying your message clearly

• Familiarity with at least one modern programming language, such as JAVA, C++, or Rust
