Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Independently develop medium-complexity functionalities and components, from technical analysis to implementation, validation, and deployment.

• Engage in the technical design of solutions, considering aspects such as maintainability, scalability, performance, security, and user experience.

• Work closely with Product Managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand the problem, align expectations, and create viable solutions.

• Ensure software quality through best development practices, testing, code review, and monitoring behavior in production.

• Analyze, resolve, and prevent technical issues, contributing to system stability and continuous product improvement.

• Actively participate in code reviews and share knowledge with team members, helping to elevate the collective technical standard.

• Suggest enhancements to components, processes, tools, or engineering practices that enable the team to be more efficient and build more robust software.

• Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the architecture and systems worked on, understanding the technical impact of decisions made.

• Collaborate in task planning and estimation, identifying risks, dependencies, and technical needs in advance.

• Take ownership of assigned initiatives, tracking progress and being responsible for the quality of the final outcome.

• Utilize AI tools and capabilities (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) to enhance productivity, accelerate development, testing, documentation, and technical analysis tasks, contributing to more efficient and higher-quality software delivery while promoting continuous improvement through exploration of these technologies and sharing knowledge with the Engineering team.

• Foster a team culture based on collaboration, continuous learning, shared responsibility, and constant improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.

• At least 3 years of experience in similar positions, independently developing functionalities within digital products or platforms, while adhering to best practices in development, testing, code review, and software maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of backend and/or frontend development in web environments, using technologies such as Java, Angular, and cloud platforms like AWS, as well as CI/CD tools (Bitbucket Pipelines, ArgoCD) and observability/monitoring tools like Datadog.

• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, version control, and deployment environments.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical profiles.

• Ownership mentality, quality orientation, and a focus on continuous improvement.

• Experience in applying AI to software development, with the ability to use it critically, responsibly, and oriented towards enhancing efficiency, quality, and impact.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, enabling you to work autonomously while adding value, without losing alignment and teamwork.

• Comfort working with changing or incomplete requirements.

• Ability to ask the right questions to clarify the problem and propose solutions without needing everything to be perfectly defined from the start.

• Capacity to break down complex problems into manageable solutions, estimate them judiciously, and anticipate technical risks before they become blockers.
