This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +2 more states.
• Design, enhance, test, and deploy scalable, secure, and cost-effective software solutions utilizing cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Create software applications using contemporary programming languages such as Java, Python, TypeScript, Go, C#, C++, or Rust.
• Develop and utilize RESTful APIs and integration frameworks.
• Deploy and manage workloads on leading cloud platforms, including compute, storage, databases, networking, serverless, and container services.
• Define and oversee infrastructure as code and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Implement automation, unit and integration testing, code reviews, secure coding practices, and maintain technical documentation.
• Work with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, selecting the most suitable data storage solutions.
• Utilize AI agents, generative AI, and AI-powered developer tools to enhance productivity and improve code quality.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and address production issues effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to convert business needs into technical solutions.
• Manage multiple development tasks simultaneously while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
• Engage with remote and globally distributed teams across various time zones.
• Keep up-to-date with cloud technologies, architectural patterns, AI-assisted development methodologies, and emerging industry trends.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional, non-internship software development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in the design or architecture of new and existing systems, encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
• Strong expertise in at least one modern programming language: Java, Python, TypeScript, Go, C#, C++, or Rust.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and principles of object-oriented design.
• Practical experience in building and managing solutions on a major public cloud platform.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS services and architectural best practices is highly preferred.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, serverless architectures, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform, as well as CI/CD tooling.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Awareness of security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and secure API design.
• Experience with AI agents or AI-enabled tools in software development workflows.
• Proven record of successfully delivering complex software systems to clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly in English.
• Experience collaborating with remote and geographically distributed teams across various time zones.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Cloud certifications like AWS Certified Developer, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer are advantageous.
• Experience in machine learning, data engineering, or developing AI-enabled applications is a plus.
• Capacity to work flexible business hours in Central time.
• Must reside in Canada, the United States, or Ireland for remote work opportunities.
