This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Supervise the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects that support the HIG VistA SSN-Reduction initiative.
• Manage the analysis of five VistA packages to evaluate the scope of SSN usage, identify all internal and external integrations, and outline an incremental deployment strategy.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Eliminate obstacles and promote a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
• Oversee project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate communication among stakeholders, architects, product owners, and development teams.
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues to leadership and clients.
• Ensure compliance with agile best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Assist in requirements gathering, prioritization, and backlog management.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, and action items.
• Ensure adherence to VA enterprise standards, federal regulations, and security requirements.
• Guide the team in embracing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (relevant to VistA releases), and quality assurance processes.
• Lead the development of onboarding packages, technical documentation, and training materials for developers and stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture reviews to ensure alignment with solution designs and technical roadmaps.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Over 6 years of experience in software project management, ideally within agile environments.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects in healthcare or federal IT contexts.
• Strong grasp of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams (developers, engineers, architects).
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Proficient in project management and agile tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, etc.).
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to acquire and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Possession of agile or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster).
• Previous experience supporting VA programs, Cerner Oracle, or federal healthcare initiatives.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development (AWS, Kubernetes), DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
