This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop the SAM capability within the first 6–12 months.
• Assess the SAM platform market and spearhead the selection of a license management solution suitable for team.blue’s hybrid environment (on-prem, SaaS, cloud).
• Execute the chosen platform from start to finish, ensuring integration with Jira Service Management (our current ITSM and asset management platform), financial systems, and procurement workflows.
• Utilize existing data sources — including our ongoing Lakeside SysTrack POC for endpoint software usage telemetry — to expedite the inventory baseline.
• Establish the operating model: processes, governance, RACI, and reporting schedule.
• Continuously optimize license costs and compliance.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives — such as true-downs, unused entitlements, overlapping tools, and right-sizing — with measurable savings reported to the COO and CFO.
• Manage compliance status for major vendors (Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, Autodesk, and others) and lead audit defense efforts.
• Oversee the renewal calendar and collaborate with Procurement on negotiation strategies, true-ups, and contract terms.
• Facilitate the centralization of currently fragmented agreements (e.g., Adobe) into group-level contracts.
• Work closely with Procurement on vendor strategy and with Finance on cost allocation, chargebacks, and forecasting.
• Provide guidance to Enterprise Apps, EUS, EUC, and Core IT teams on license-efficient architecture and tooling choices.
• Assist in Post-Merger Integration (PMI) — streamlining overlapping software estates from acquired entities.
• Engage with stakeholders across both technical and non-technical areas, clearly translating licensing and entitlement implications while actively listening to requirements to ensure that tooling and license decisions meet actual customer needs.
• Create dashboards and KPIs: cost per user, license utilization, savings achieved, compliance risk.
• Define and enforce the SaaS approval policy in collaboration with IT and Security to manage shadow IT.
• Own software asset and license management processes from start to finish, ensuring adoption and adherence across teams while aligning with team.blue’s security policies and governance standards.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in software asset management, license management, or IT procurement with a significant SAM focus.
• Practical experience with at least one SAM platform (Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro, USU, or a comparable system).
• Familiarity with the complete software estate: on-prem, SaaS, and hybrid licensing models (per-user, per-core, consumption-based).
• Proven track record in managing compliance and audits with major vendors (Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, Oracle, etc.).
• Strong analytical capabilities — proficient in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, translating data into actionable savings.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills — equally effective with a Finance Controller, a CISO, and an engineering lead.
• Proficiency in English.
• Fully remote work.
• Work from anywhere in Europe.
• Be part of a 24-person Group IT team.
