Software Architect – Product Architecture, JetBrains Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture for a designated product domain within the JetBrains Cloud Platform and continuously enhance it.

• Convert product and domain requirements into well-defined architectural designs and implementation strategies.

• Establish service boundaries, domain models, data flows, and integration agreements, adhering to platform standards.

• Lead significant architectural choices and trade-offs within your domain (such as API design, data persistence, reliability, performance, and migration strategies).

• Guarantee that your domain architecture is built for scalability, reliability, and observability from the very beginning.

• Assess and confirm architectural designs within your domain and team, improving quality and consistency.

• Collaborate with platform architects and other domain leaders to ensure alignment on cross-cutting decisions and shared interfaces.

• Work closely with senior and staff engineers to clarify requirements, minimize uncertainties, and facilitate execution.

• Possesses extensive experience in software engineering and system design, demonstrating a history of working on intricate systems.

• Has experience taking charge of architecture within a product or domain, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term viability.

• Comfortable aligning product requirements with platform capabilities and limitations (and negotiating trade-offs when necessary).

• Capable of facilitating architectural decision-making within a team and across partner teams.

• Adaptable to an environment where many processes and standards are still being established.

• Driven by long-term objectives, designing for evolution rather than temporary solutions.
