Software Architect, Data, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• In this role, you will serve as a strategic collaborator with the Data Architect, ensuring that the business systems, APIs, and integrations developed by engineering teams yield reliable, traceable, and well-structured data for the organization’s data and AI platform.

• You will define and enhance the organization’s reference architecture for systems, focusing on scalability, resilience, maintainability, and security.

• Lead the process of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), documenting and communicating essential technical decisions and their contexts.

• Assess and recommend technologies, frameworks, integration patterns, and architectural methodologies (such as microservices, event-driven, API-first, etc.) for various contexts within the organization.

• Establish API design standards (including REST, GraphQL, gRPC, AsyncAPI) to ensure consistent and versionable contracts between systems.

• Collaborate closely with the Data Architect to ensure that system architectures generate well-structured, traceable, and consumable data for the data team.

• Define and execute the organization’s DevOps strategy and engineering platform, encompassing everything from repositories to production deployments.

• Set standards for code repository organization, including naming conventions, branch policies, and Pull Request practices.

• Design and supervise the implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automation of builds, tests, static analysis, security, and deployments.

• Formulate the organization’s systems integration strategy, establishing standards for both synchronous and asynchronous communication between applications.

• Act as a technical reference for organizational leadership, translating technical complexities into clear, business-oriented language.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Software Architect or Senior Engineer with a solid architectural foundation.

• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven, hexagonal, CQRS, saga, API Gateway, and others.

• Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure as a primary platform, including App Services, AKS, Service Bus, API Management, Key Vault, and more.

• Experience with API design and governance practices, including REST, versioning, and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.

• Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience utilizing Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, particularly using Terraform.

• Proficient in at least one backend development stack, such as .NET, Java, Python, or Node.js.

• Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures, including Service Bus, Event Hub, Kafka, or similar technologies.

• Proven track record in providing technical leadership to engineering teams.

• Experience in establishing standards for code quality, testing, and technical documentation.

• Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization using Docker.

• Knowledge of API management platforms, specifically Azure APIM.

• Familiarity with data contracts and integration with data platforms, such as Data Lake or Lakehouse.

• Experience implementing Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in real-world projects.

• Understanding of DORA metrics and high-performance engineering practices.

• Experience with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Grafana, Datadog).

• Background in regulated industries, such as financial, healthcare, or legal sectors.
