📋 Description

• Spearhead the social video strategy for USA TODAY, including the approach for user-generated content.

• Evaluate the social video portfolio and its performance, driving innovation within the space.

• Create a unified editorial style that aligns with platform behaviors and meets audience needs.

• Stay informed about the creator industry, emerging platforms, and shifts in audience behaviors.

• Formulate strategies that encompass the complete audience journey.

• Analyze performance metrics, uncover growth opportunities, and lead experimental initiatives.

• Adjust platform strategies during breaking news and significant events.

• Assist in content creation when required.

• Convert data insights into actionable strategies.

• Collaborate across departments to enhance social video revenue and boost consumer retention.

• Oversee the audience team's collaboration with the video production team.

• Strategize for major tentpole events and storytelling opportunities.

• Work alongside AI leads to experiment with and implement production and workflow tools.

• Mentor journalists on social video storytelling, production methods, and the use of technical tools.

• Conduct training sessions for reporters, visual journalists, content creators, and editors.

• Manage the balance between editorial and business priorities while prioritizing audience and organizational objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in digital journalism or leadership within a newsroom.

• Background in a digital, print, or television news organization.

• Journalism experience is essential.

• A resume spanning one to two pages.
