This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Spearhead the design and advancement of essential infrastructure for the development, testing, and deployment of cloud applications.
• Integrate various legacy tools into a modern, unified, and scalable developer platform.
• Foster operational excellence throughout the organization.
• Understand the priorities and practices of other engineering teams to create effective systems.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects within Cloud Engineering and engage with non-technical stakeholders.
• Engage in sustainable incident response through an on-call rotation and conduct blameless postmortems.
• Design the next iteration of Cisco’s developer platform to empower engineers to experiment and develop products safely and confidently.
• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with over 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with more than 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent related work experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in writing production-quality Python or Ruby for tooling or automation purposes.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience managing infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible in environments with 500+ nodes or complex, high-frequency CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with modern Unix/Linux operating systems and distributions.
• Experience in building and supporting tools for a rapidly expanding engineering organization with over 1,500 engineers.
• U.S. Person status is required: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee.
• May be required to engage in work restricted to U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.
• Preferred: experience in hybrid cloud environments, including bare metal, container orchestration, and managed cloud services.
• Preferred: experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization.
• Preferred: familiarity with DORA and SPACE DevOps metrics.
