This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
• Design and architect the next generation of Cisco’s developer platform.
• Develop and enhance essential infrastructure for the creation, testing, and deployment of cloud applications.
• Integrate various legacy tools into a modern, unified, and scalable developer platform.
• Empower engineers to experiment safely and confidently while effectively building products.
• Foster operational excellence throughout the organization.
• Understand the priorities and practices of other engineering teams to create compatible systems.
• Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives within Cloud Engineering and engage with non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and perform sustainable incident responses.
• Conduct blameless postmortems to analyze incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent related work experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in writing production-grade code in Python or Ruby, with a focus on tooling or automation.
• 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience managing infrastructure in environments that support 500+ nodes or complex, high-frequency CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient with modern Unix/Linux operating systems and distributions.
• Experience in building and supporting tools for a rapidly growing engineering organization with over 1,500 employees.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments, including bare metal, container orchestration, and managed cloud services.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of DORA and SPACE DevOps measurement metrics.
• Interest in developing highly resilient and scalable systems with an owner/operator mindset.
• Ability to swiftly learn unfamiliar technologies within a diverse toolset.
• Must be a U.S. Person eligible for work in FedRAMP High or IL-5 environments.
• Some roles may require U.S. citizenship and performance on U.S. soil.
