This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Actively participate as a co-owner of production services, ensuring they are built, maintained, and operated in a reliable and scalable manner.
• Contribute to the delivery of new features and services, as well as the everyday operations of existing services.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering to identify and implement operational enhancements through metric-driven collection and analysis.
• Develop and uphold application performance benchmarks.
• Enhance operational efficiencies by releasing code and monitoring performance metrics.
• Provide Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and operational support, which includes tooling, automation, monitoring, workflow management, and improvements to CI/CD processes.
• Participate in the weekly on-call rotation to investigate and resolve system-related issues.
• Manage and scale infrastructure systems effectively.
• Create and maintain performance benchmarks to ensure optimal application performance.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines to minimize the time from development to production deployment.
• Enhance and scale AWS and application infrastructure.
• Optimize local development workflows in collaboration with software development teams.
• Identify recurring issues and devise solutions to mitigate or eliminate their impact.
• Assist in the implementation of scalable blue/green and canary deployment strategies.
• Extensive experience in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting infrastructure within AWS.
• Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of production container deployment using self-managed Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
• Ability to create custom tools when suitable options are not available, and instruct others on their use.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices with experience in building custom tooling for code deployment to production environments.
• Capability to troubleshoot distributed Linux systems and trace requests across applications, systems, and networks.
• Proficiency in automating routine tasks effectively.
• Strong command of at least two programming languages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively while also possessing the capability to solve problems independently.
• Must reside in the EMEA region and be available during standard EMEA working hours.
