Site Reliability Engineer – Compute System & Network

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain Exoscale’s operating systems and hypervisor fleets, encompassing everything from kernels to network stacks, including security filtering layers.

• Contribute to the implementation of routing and security automation systems.

• Play a key role in shaping our operating system images strategy, from bare metal to virtual machines.

• Maintain and enhance system container runtimes.

• Enhance our provisioning and deployment systems.

• Assist in optimizing the performance of bare metal and hypervisor systems.

• Contribute to the overall design and architecture of the Exoscale platform systems.

• Participate in the development of internal tooling.

• Enhance our systems and processes to ensure scalability and high availability, aiding in the achievement of exceptional SLAs.

• Engage in code and changes reviews.

• Participate in the on-call rotation following a training period.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess substantial experience with Linux, including its kernel and Systemd.

• Have familiarity with KVM virtualization.

• Understand network routing and transport, with a solid grasp of encapsulation protocols.

• Hold a strong knowledge of eBPF.

• Be well-versed in container runtimes.

• Have considerable experience with Golang and Python.

• Be knowledgeable about server hardware.

• Have experience with configuration management solutions and large-scale infrastructure.

• Enjoy automating processes wherever possible and have a tendency to document your work.

• Be curious, self-driven, and eager to learn new things every day.

• Be a team player, comfortable working within a distributed team.

• Possess strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
