Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You establish and uphold SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs throughout production.

• You oversee system health, strategize capacity, and automate tasks such as deployments, patching, and infrastructure provisioning.

• You swiftly diagnose and resolve production incidents, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations.

• You conduct post-mortem analyses and translate findings into preventive measures; you also maintain runbooks and escalation protocols.

• You manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and take ownership of CI/CD pipeline design and upkeep.

• You enhance scalability, ensure fault tolerance, prepare for disaster recovery, and maintain security compliance.

• You collaborate with development teams on production readiness, implement Shift Left practices, and oversee error budget management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering position with direct production ownership.

• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.

• Familiarity with Ceph or similar distributed storage solutions.

• Experience with SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and the design of CI/CD pipelines.

• A degree in a relevant field or an equivalent qualification.

• Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient under pressure – possessing strong debugging and incident response capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of converting operational issues into actionable guidance for development teams.

• Experience in Go development is advantageous.
