This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +2 more states.
• Lead daily field operations for intricate, mission-critical data center construction initiatives.
• Supervise construction activities from site mobilization to final turnover and commissioning.
• Take ownership of project safety, quality, scheduling, planning, jobsite logistics, on-site management, subcontractor coordination, and risk assessment.
• Maintain the comprehensive project schedule along with task-specific two- to three-week lookahead schedules.
• Provide real-time scheduling information to the Project Manager and Scheduler.
• Enforce site safety protocols and halt work when safety violations occur.
• Educate project team members on Gray software, including CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, and GoGray.
• Organize site and weekly coordination meetings to discuss subcontractor activities.
• Prepare monthly reports addressing safety, schedule adherence, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and client relations.
• Work collaboratively with the Project Manager team on subcontract buyout and procurement planning.
• Lead, mentor, coach, and train project team members and subordinate supervisors.
• Establish and promote a strong jobsite safety culture.
• Set up and finalize construction sites.
• Conduct daily project walks to ensure safe, quality-compliant, on-schedule work.
• Communicate project updates to project managers, design managers, clients, site teams, subcontractors, and field operations.
• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, shop, and other relevant drawings.
• Ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Review project budgets and financial implications with the Project Manager.
• Assist with scopes of work, subcontractor/vendor assessments, pre-award meetings, cost-to-complete reports, monthly billings, and status updates.
• Implement project closeout and punch-list procedures.
• Take responsibility for overall project team coordination and schedule management post-mobilization to meet or exceed client expectations.
• Perform additional assigned duties.
• Over 5 years of experience in industrial construction, with a strong preference for data center or mission-critical experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant construction experience.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex construction projects from mobilization through to commissioning and turnover.
• Strong comprehension of mission-critical construction settings and the significance of schedule, quality, and safety.
• Solid understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and critical path activities.
• Experience with comprehensive oversight of field activities, including collaboration across design, project, and schedule management is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to manage and direct on-site project teams.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial documents, and legal/contractual agreements.
• Strong interpersonal and people management abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
• Proficient in utilizing Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or comparable construction software is a plus.
• Must not require visa sponsorship; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States and occasionally internationally.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and communicate effectively.
• Capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.
• Capability to work in wet/humid environments, around moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, and in extreme temperatures, as well as exposure to fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock risks, explosives, and vibrations.
• Availability to work overtime when necessary.
• Supervisory skills, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and resolving issues.
• Travel to project locations per Gray’s travel policy.
