πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee a portfolio of decommissioned landfill sites, ensuring continuous adherence to environmental permits, planning regulations, and Health & Safety laws.

β€’ Conduct routine site evaluations and supervise contractors, ensuring that aftercare tasks are performed safely, effectively, and in accordance with established standards.

β€’ Manage landfill gas collection and leachate management systems, identifying ways to enhance environmental effectiveness and operational efficiency.

β€’ Take responsibility for aftercare budgets, tracking spending, managing costs, and assisting with capital investment initiatives.

β€’ Formulate and execute short, medium, and long-term management strategies for sites to ensure compliance and boost site performance.

β€’ Collaborate effectively with operational, environmental, engineering, compliance, finance, and health & safety teams to achieve business goals within the region.

β€’ Foster positive relationships with regulators, local authorities, landlords, contractors, and other essential stakeholders, representing the organization in a professional manner at all times.

β€’ Offer health, safety, and compliance assistance to operational sites throughout the Southern region, addressing incidents and regulatory matters as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Proven track record in managing landfill or waste management operations, with a solid understanding of environmental compliance and site aftercare.

β€’ Demonstrable experience in managing landfill gas and/or leachate systems, with the capability to analyze technical data and pinpoint areas for improvement.

β€’ Strong financial management abilities, encompassing budget oversight, cost control, and project management experience.

β€’ A proactive, organized, and safety-oriented mindset, with the capacity to work independently across multiple sites and manage competing priorities.

β€’ Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating with regulators, contractors, and operational teams.

β€’ A valid UK driving license and readiness to travel daily across the Southern region, including regular overnight stays and occasional travel across the UK.
