This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Ensure a secure working environment through employee training and operational oversight.
• Guarantee adherence to company safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Advocate for and sustain a robust safety culture across the organization.
• Keep up-to-date certifications, qualifications, and training documentation.
• Guide, mentor, and develop staff across all operational areas.
• Recognize high-potential team members and facilitate succession planning initiatives.
• Create work schedules and staffing strategies to ensure operational efficiency.
• Encourage employee involvement and responsibility.
• Ensure that operations align with customer expectations and contractual commitments.
• Oversee payroll, fuel, equipment, and operational expenditures.
• Manage purchase order systems and site-related expenses.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with mechanical teams.
• Track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with customers.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding operational matters and service requirements.
• Address customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Handle timekeeping, performance assessments, reporting, and operational documentation.
• Accurately complete required reports for customers and the company by deadlines.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management tasks.
• Undertake additional operational and leadership responsibilities as assigned.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in rail operations, logistics, manufacturing, transportation, or a related field is required.
• Previous experience in the railroad industry is preferred.
• Strong skills in leadership, coaching, and employee development.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
• Competence in writing reports, business correspondence, and operational records.
• Ability to analyze operational data and performance indicators.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as necessary.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
• Military experience is an advantage.
