Site EHS Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement the vision and strategy set forth by the NAM Projects EHS Leader specifically for the Western Spirit and Sunzia Wind Farm.

• Ensure the adherence to all relevant EHS policies and programs as directed by the EHS Leader at project sites.

• Oversee the deployment of new and updated EHS policies and programs.

• Provide on-call EHS support and advice to the business as necessary.

• Responsible for developing EHS programs and policies within your designated EHS disciplines.

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in your respective EHS fields.

• Conduct reviews and revisions of Work Instruction EHS documents.

• Carry out Risk Assessments, including reviews and modifications.

• Perform Site Audits and evaluations.

• Execute Event Analyses (investigations) for incidents with high severity or the potential for severe injuries, illnesses, property damages, spills, near misses, etc.

• Assist Site Safety Professionals (SSPs) in conducting Event Analyses.

• Support SSPs, Site Managers, and Project Managers through the staffing of SSP personnel at sites.

• Provide daily management, training, and performance evaluations for assigned GE & Contractor SSP personnel.

• Offer coaching and improvement plans for assigned GE & Contractor SSP personnel.

• Carry out assigned tasks related to EHS software applications based on given permission levels (e.g., Gensuite, Complyworks, Box, etc.).

• Provide assistance with EHS software applications to assigned GE & Contractor SSP personnel.

• Participate in and contribute to mandatory recurring and spontaneous EHS meetings and conferences.

• Attend and engage in mandatory recurring and impromptu Operations and non-EHS meetings/conferences.

• Represent EHS during Project kick-off meetings and improvement initiatives (when applicable) for assigned projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college (preferably in Occupational Health & Safety) and a minimum of two years of experience in the Wind Industry, OR a High School diploma/GED with at least 4-5 years of Wind Industry experience.

• Must be willing and able to travel within North America 80-100% of the time.

• Must possess the physical capability to work at and climb tower heights of 300 ft. or more regularly and perform permit-required confined space entries.

• Must be able to utilize turbine fall protection systems while maintaining the necessary weight for effectiveness, with a maximum personal weight limit of 250 lbs.

• Must either have a working knowledge of or be able to develop proficiency in the following EHS disciplines: Event Analyses (investigations) and execution of event management programs; NFPA 70E standards, OSHA Electrical Safety standards, and execution of Electrical Safety programs; Energy Isolation/Lockout Tagout (LOTO) regulations and execution of LOTO programs; Work at Heights, Fall Protection, and Rescue regulations and execution of Work at Heights programs; Crane, Rigging & Lifting regulations and execution of crane, rigging, and lifting programs; Industrial Mobile Equipment, Trenching & Excavation regulations and execution of such programs.
