Short-Form Video Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Analyze long-form footage to extract the most impactful moments, reactions, and hooks for short-form content.

• Edit a high volume of vertical videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, meeting established daily or weekly output targets.

• Craft and time on-screen captions, text overlays, hooks, and calls to action that resonate with the tone and audience in the UK.

• Incorporate sound, music, trending audio, pacing, and transitions that are appropriate for each platform and format.

• Create multiple variations of concepts for testing purposes.

• Conduct self-reviews of videos against the brief and brand guidelines prior to submission.

• Respond to feedback promptly, ideally within the same working day.

• Maintain organization of footage, project files, and exports using storage and project management tools.

• Monitor TikTok and Instagram trends, formats, and UK culture to bring fresh ideas to the team.

• Achieve targets for volume, first-time approval rates, quality control reduction, turnaround time, and content performance metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience editing short-form social media content, preferably for consumer, entertainment, or e-commerce brands, or agencies.

• A portfolio or showreel showcasing TikTok/Reels content with measurable performance results.

• Proficient in Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve.

• Exceptional written and spoken English skills, with a natural grasp of British humour, slang, and cultural references.

• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently at a high pace and volume while maintaining quality.

• Reliable home setup and internet connectivity, with availability during UK hours.

• Experience with UGC and creator-led content is a plus.

• Familiarity with motion graphics or basic animation is advantageous.

• Understanding of games, board games, or party culture is a bonus.

• Basic knowledge of paid social creative testing is desirable.
