Shopware 6 Backend Developer – B2B eCommerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Primary focus on Shopware development — designing and implementing Shopware 6 plugins, custom entities, and B2B-specific functionalities.

• Ongoing development and upkeep of existing shop features — enhancing performance, checkout processes, and product displays.

• Technical execution of PIM integrations: importing product data, mapping attributes, and synchronizing media through the Shopware API.

• Ensuring reliable shop operations: managing CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, and updates.

• Contributing to test automation — creating unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for critical business processes.

• Assessing and, when appropriate, implementing headless/API-first strategies (e.g., Shopware Frontends, composable commerce).

• Evaluating AI/LLM solutions for automation purposes (such as product descriptions, intelligent search, and data quality verification).

⛳️ Requirements

• Shopware 6: Several years of expertise in plugin development, custom entities, Admin API, and storefront customizations.

• PHP 8+ / Symfony: Ability to write clean, testable code with a strong grasp of both technologies.

• Frontend: Proficiency in Twig templates, along with foundational knowledge in HTML/CSS and JavaScript/Vue.js.

• B2B processes: Knowledge of pricing structures, customer groups, and order workflows.

• System integration: Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and PIM or ERP integrations.

• DevOps: Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, and Docker practices.

• Nice-to-haves: Familiarity with Headless Commerce / Shopware Frontends / composable commerce, TYPO3 — prior experience or eagerness to learn; exposure to Syndigo (PIM), Workato (iPaaS), or Salesforce; application of large language models in an e-commerce setting; experience with testing frameworks in the Shopware/Symfony ecosystem such as PHPUnit and Playwright.
