Shipboard Network Engineering Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, development, and proof of concepts for CCTV systems.

• Supervise the installation and commissioning of network-based CCTV security systems.

• Contribute measurable insights into the design components of future systems.

• Assess shipboard environments for the installation of equipment.

• Install and/or supervise the installation of relevant equipment.

• Conduct onsite testing of equipment and collaborate with other engineers.

• Install and/or oversee the installation of necessary cables.

• Diagnose hardware and software problems during commissioning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret Clearance.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs.

• Proficient in installing, modifying, or maintaining shipboard CCTV systems and/or networks, including adherence to ABS and USCG regulations for electrical installations.

• Experience with IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP.

• Solid understanding of CAT5-5E, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables, connectors, and a proven ability to fabricate necessary equipment.

• Familiarity with Windows and/or Unix operating systems.

• Proficient in using VISIO and MS Office applications.

• Capability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
