SGRE Certified Uptower Repair Wind Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Executing up-tower repairs and diagnostics on medium and major components.

• Performing safe and efficient repairs on all Wind Turbine electrical systems.

• Possessing detailed knowledge and expertise in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.

• Capable of reading and interpreting schematics from various Wind Turbine manufacturers.

• Direct experience with turbines is mandatory; familiarity with GE, SGRE, and Suzlon is preferred.

• Occasionally, you may need to assist in lifting operations after skills verification for large components.

⛳️ Requirements

• Conducting up-tower repairs and diagnostics on medium and major components, which include Generator Bearings, Generator Slip Rings, Rotor and Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS replacement, HSS bearings, IMS replacement, IMS bearings, Yaw Drive Repair/Exchange, Generator Exchanges, and Trunnion Pin Repairs.

• Must be able to climb vertically at least 300 feet.

• Maintain all necessary certifications required for the position.

• Direct turbine-specific experience is essential; GE, SGRE, and Suzlon familiarity is preferred.

• May be required to perform LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) of equipment as an Authorized Person.

• Occasionally, you may need to assist in lifting operations after skills verification for large components.

• MCE experience is required, along with additional knowledge of lifting and hoisting operations.

• Experience in generator and gearbox bearing exchanges is necessary.

• Ability to measure and interpret digital and analog calipers.

• Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely carry out job responsibilities, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
