ServiceNow Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical authority for the enterprise ServiceNow platform of a Federal Agency.

• Develop and uphold standards for platform architecture, design models, technical roadmaps, and approved methodologies.

• Oversee architecture, technical design, and code evaluations for platform and application team solutions, products, integrations, and customizations.

• Manage platform-level integrations, MID Server designs, identity/SSO, service accounts, API frameworks, data interfaces, monitoring connections, and reusable integration components.

• Assist with platform ATO, security/privacy protocols, POA&M remediation, security-impact assessments, access/permission frameworks, logging/auditing, and security engineering choices.

• Establish the data architecture and governance for ServiceNow, which includes CSDM/CMDB patterns, data quality, extraction, backup/archive, recovery preparedness, migration readiness, and integration-data hygiene.

• Direct upgrades, patches, plug-in selections, Health Scans, technical-debt mitigation, performance enhancement, code scanning, CI/CD, automated testing, and release-risk assessments.

• Offer a technical decision framework for intricate incidents and cross-product failures.

• Evaluate ServiceNow capabilities, automation, and approved GenAI features for their business value, security/privacy implications, effort, dependencies, adoption, and maintainability.

• Lead the Community of Practice and governance boards; disseminate reusable standards and guidance; mentor administrators, developers, implementation specialists, and testers.

• Facilitate transition-in/out processes by verifying the live technical baseline, identifying undocumented dependencies and technical debt, and ensuring that architectural decisions, patterns, runbooks, and technical knowledge are transferable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of eight years of experience with the ServiceNow platform across various enterprise deployments, implementations, upgrades, and operational settings.

• At least four years in a ServiceNow architect position leading design discussions, architecture assessments, platform standards, and complex technical choices.

• Proficiency in enterprise ServiceNow architecture, ITSM/ITOM/ITAM, CSDM/CMDB concepts, integrations, security, performance, and technical-debt management.

• Familiarity with IntegrationHub and/or ServiceNow integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, OAuth/service accounts, SSO/identity frameworks, event/monitoring integrations, and secure connectivity.

• Experience with ServiceNow CI/CD, source control, code scanning, ATF/testing strategies, family upgrades, Health Scans, and upgrade-safe design.

• Valid ServiceNow CSA, CAD, relevant CIS certifications, and an active ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) credential.

• Experience with interpreting and applying federal or equivalent enterprise security/privacy standards.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Ability to meet High Risk IT background investigation and sensitive information requirements.

• Preferred experience in federal consulting or financial regulatory environments.

• Preferred experience in governing a shared ServiceNow platform across multiple vendors and product teams.

• Preferred experience with platform ATO documentation, POA&M remediation, continuity/recovery, and high-volume enterprise integration environments.
