This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of AMR equipment (Tehama, Inovonics, Next Century, Aclara, and Cerenti) in the field to ensure optimal usage and quality.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and precision when recording meter data in project management software [MOSS].
• Assesses plumbing, electrical, and gas requirements, taking necessary actions for the installation of equipment.
• Operates independently while adhering to established guidelines to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
• Troubleshoots network-related issues, including routers and phone lines.
• Possesses intermediate knowledge of Building Automation Systems, Smart Grid Electronics, and HVAC controls, including software engineering and commissioning tools, DDC controllers, and field devices.
• Retrofitting large commercial mechanical systems by integrating electronic systems within submetering systems for accurate billing based on raw meter data.
• Manages, implements, and performs technical product support for installed equipment as a system integration specialist.
• Communicates clearly and concisely, tailoring solutions to meet client-specific requirements by offering options and alternative solutions.
• Organizes data into report formats suitable for presentation to both internal and external clients.
• Maintains effective communication with property staff, addressing inquiries and escalating concerns to management or internal client service representatives.
• Gathers necessary due diligence from clients, including prior billing information and submeter details (typically required for retrofit projects).
• Committed to adhering to all safety work practices, including the daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Ability to interpret low voltage wiring diagrams and control flow diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities (troubleshoot technical issues, communicate effectively, and document solutions for non-technical audiences).
• General technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, including AHUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, and Electrical Smart Grid Panel Board Systems.
• Familiarity with construction, plumbing, and electrical work; knowledge of submetering systems and equipment is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail are required.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing complex issues on an ongoing basis is necessary.
• Desired computer skills include proficiency in MS Office Professional (Access, Excel, and Outlook), TCP/IP, router networking, and RF.
