SEO Content Writer, Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• This position entails researching, outlining, composing, editing, and optimizing content pertaining to education and test preparation.

• You will generate original, high-performance content aimed not only at ranking in traditional search results but also at being cited and featured in AI-driven search environments (e.g., Google AI Overviews and generative engines).

• Achieving success in this position necessitates a balance between SEO best practices and emerging Engine Optimization (EO) principles to enhance visibility, citation share, and AI-driven discoverability.

• Responsibilities may include:

• Conducting research on education and test prep topics tailored for a U.S.-based audience.

• Crafting detailed outlines grounded in keyword research, competitor analysis, and content briefs.

• Composing SEO/EO-optimized articles that harmonize search performance with readability and user intent.

• Seamlessly integrating marketing claims and product messaging into informative content.

• Analyzing performance data and deriving insights to inform content enhancements.

• Editing and optimizing existing published articles to boost rankings, visibility, and engagement.

• Creating infographics or visual elements to enhance shareability and link potential.

• Ensuring all content is unique, accurate, well-structured, and aligned with the brand's voice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Availability to work with overlap in Pacific Standard Time (minimum of 4 hours between 1 PM – 8 PM PST).

• 3 - 5+ years of professional experience in writing SEO/EO optimized content.

• 3+ years of experience in marketing content, link-building content, or performance-driven publishing.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI writing and research tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Surfer, Clearscope) to elevate content quality, efficiency, SEO performance, and ideation while maintaining strong editorial judgment and human oversight.

• Strong copyediting skills with exceptional attention to grammar, clarity, and consistency.

• Proven success in publishing content that generates organic traffic, backlinks, and engagement.

• Comprehensive understanding of on-page SEO best practices, including:

• The ability to incorporate keywords naturally without compromising quality or authority.

• Experience in optimizing content for both user experience and search engine performance.

• Excellent written and spoken English skills.
