This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Lead and enhance the agency's SEO capabilities, ensuring adherence to best practices and innovation across all client accounts.
• Keep the agency updated on industry changes, algorithm updates, upcoming technologies, and shifting search trends.
• Collaborate with broader digital marketing teams to ensure SEO strategies align with Paid Media, Measurement, and Conversion Rate Optimization initiatives.
• Promote continuous enhancement of SEO processes, standards, and methodologies.
• Coach, mentor, and support team members while contributing to performance reviews and their professional growth.
• Develop and manage SEO strategies for clients across various industries.
• Implement and oversee technical SEO, content optimization, and off-page SEO initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, proactively communicating performance insights, opportunities, and recommendations.
• Analyze campaign performance to identify opportunities for increasing organic traffic, leads, and revenue.
• Ensure quality assurance across all SEO deliverables.
• Support new business initiatives by contributing to proposals, developing SEO strategies, and participating in client pitches.
• Represent the agency through thought leadership, industry events, networking opportunities, and online content.
• Experiment with and assess new tools, software, and methodologies, sharing insights with colleagues and clients.
• Serve as the agency's SEO subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex client challenges and industry advancements.
• Effectively delegate tasks to internal team members and external partners.
• Provide clear briefs, strategic direction, and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate closely with the Studio Manager to manage resource planning and project delivery requirements.
• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance culture dedicated to client success.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in SEO, ideally within a digital marketing agency setting.
• Demonstrated experience in leading SEO strategies that have resulted in significant growth in organic traffic, conversions, and revenue.
• Strong leadership abilities to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.
• Advanced knowledge of technical SEO, including the ability to diagnose issues and effectively communicate solutions.
• Strong proficiency in content optimization, digital PR, link building, and off-page SEO.
• Practical experience with SEO and analytics platforms, including:
• - GA4
• - Google Search Console
• - Semrush
• - Ahrefs
• - Screaming Frog
• - Sitebulb
• A solid understanding of Google Tag Manager and accurate tracking implementation.
• Experience with content management systems.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially savvy, with the ability to identify growth opportunities for both clients and the agency.
