Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Advocate for a "platform as a product" approach by consistently gathering insights from engineering teams and iterating to enhance the developer experience.

• Design, construct, and uphold scalable and dependable infrastructure on Google Cloud to meet our expanding product requirements.

• Work in close collaboration with developers to optimize local and CI/CD workflows, promoting platform best practices.

• Advance our observability stack, ensuring that teams have the necessary monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to operate efficiently and confidently.

• Establish and maintain secure-by-default protocols for networking, secrets management, IAM, and workload separation.

• Speed up and finalize the adoption of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and GitOps to ensure consistent and traceable infrastructure modifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform/OpenTofu) on a prominent cloud platform (ideally Google Cloud).

• Over 5 years of pertinent engineering experience in tech-focused and ideally product-oriented organizations.

• Solid foundation in software engineering with a developer-first perspective.

• Practical experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and contemporary CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven history of enhancing developer experience through improved tools, optimized workflows, and a documentation-first approach.

• Familiarity with relational database design, performance optimization, and operations at scale, preferably with PostgreSQL.
