Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level Kubernetes platforms and cloud infrastructure.

• Oversee infrastructure delivery processes from the initial discovery phase to the production rollout.

• Make architectural and technical platform choices in alignment with customer requirements.

• Automate the provisioning of infrastructure and configuration management by employing Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Set up and sustain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.

• Configure and support secure cluster operations, manage secrets, and enhance platform security.

• Engage directly with customers, vendors, and external stakeholders during technical workshops and solution discussions.

• Assess existing infrastructure environments to identify opportunities for optimization.

• Develop technical proposals, implementation strategies, estimates, and delivery roadmaps.

• Diagnose issues in production environments and conduct root cause analysis.

• Ensure compliance, security, and operational readiness for government-related environments.

• Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to the team's technical leadership.

• Participate in technical discovery, architectural design, implementation planning, and communication with stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer in enterprise settings.

• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes administration, networking, and security protocols.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with implementing GitOps practices using ArgoCD or similar tools.

• Strong skills in Linux administration and troubleshooting.

• Experience with CI/CD automation and software delivery pipelines.

• Knowledge of secrets management solutions like OpenBAO or HashiCorp Vault.

• Experience with identity and access management solutions such as Keycloak.

• Understanding of infrastructure security, CIS benchmarks, and platform hardening techniques.

• Experience in handling production enterprise infrastructure environments.

• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.

• Proven experience in direct communication with customers and stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• Experience with OKD or OpenShift administration.

• Familiarity with Ceph storage solutions.

• Knowledge of Helm packaging and customization.

• Experience with air-gapped environments and restricted infrastructure.

• Familiarity with vSphere administration.

• Experience in delivering solutions to external hosting providers.

• Background in government, eGov, or registry-based systems.

• Understanding of compliance and operational standards in public sector environments.
