Senior Web Developer – WordPress, Shopify

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Guide a team of developers by offering direction, performing code reviews, and promoting a culture of technical excellence — actively demonstrating the integration of Claude Code and AI tools into daily development practices.

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance web solutions utilizing WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — transforming Figma prototypes into responsive, production-ready builds for both internal projects and client work, while leveraging Claude Code to streamline development and enhance code quality.

• Establish and uphold technical standards and best practices for the team, including utilizing Figma files as the definitive source during development and ensuring responsible, effective use of AI tools like Claude Code.

• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers during the Figma handoff to outline project scope, identify ambiguities early, and convert designs into a comprehensive technical roadmap.

• Manage website hosting (Kinsta, WPEngine, etc.), domain administration (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Squarespace), and infrastructure with an emphasis on performance, security, and uptime.

• Create, develop, and sustain custom WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and Elementor websites from inception to launch — directly working from Figma prototypes to deliver responsive, accurate implementations across both internal and client-facing properties, leveraging Claude Code as a pivotal resource.

• Spearhead the adoption of technical and on-page SEO best practices to enhance search rankings, including optimizing site structure, schema markup, and page performance.

• Actively identify and resolve intricate issues across various browsers and devices, while remaining updated on emerging web technologies and AI tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in WordPress and/or Shopify development.

• Strong expertise in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Proficient in Figma — capable of navigating prototypes, inspecting specifications, and independently converting designs into fully responsive, production-ready builds without ambiguity or assistance.

• Experience in delivering both internal web properties and client-facing projects from Figma to launch.

• Practical, production experience with Claude Code — having utilized it in a real workflow rather than just experimenting.

• Hands-on experience with Elementor and Webflow — comfortable building and customizing within the platform without relying on pre-built templates.

• Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring a development team.

• Strong analytical skills — able to methodically break down complex challenges and drive them to resolution.

• Exceptional communication abilities — able to clearly convey technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• A genuine team player who collaborates openly, effectively gives and receives feedback, and contributes to a positive team environment.

• Familiarity with SEO best practices and performance optimization.

• Knowledge of hosting platforms such as Kinsta and WPEngine.

• Working understanding of domain and DNS management (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, etc.).
