Senior Visual Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Visual Craft: Collaborate with product designers across various teams (insurance, financial products, home services, and others) to integrate illustration, motion, and visual refinement into workflows that enhance measurable conversion rates.

• Participate in critiques, challenge ideas, and propose visual solutions to design challenges.

• Illustration & Visual Systems: Create and develop original illustrations, icon collections, and visual assets that expand our brand presence across product interfaces — including editorial pages, key templates, conversion funnels, AI/LLM templates, and onboarding processes.

• Establish scalable illustration systems rather than one-off designs.

• Motion & Animation: Oversee all motion design tasks from storyboarding and conceptualization to After Effects composition, Lottie export, and lightweight SVG/CSS animation specifications provided to engineering teams.

• Ensure that motion elements are delivered at the quality you envisioned.

• Design System Contribution: Create and uphold illustration and motion guidelines as part of our design system — outlining style, usage standards, reusable components, and motion tokens.

• Brand & Sponsored Content: Play a role in creating high-profile sponsored content packages and media kit deliverables, collaborating with BD, editorial, and brand stakeholders when such projects require advanced visual expertise.

• Rapid Prototyping: Quickly conceptualize and prototype visual ideas — including comps, mood boards, and animation tests — to align stakeholders prior to production.

• Engineering Partnership: Work closely with front-end engineers during implementation, detailing motion behavior, easing, timing, and fallback states to ensure that the final product aligns with the original design intent.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with design, product, editorial, BD, and engineering teams. Communicate the importance of visual choices in straightforward terms to non-designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a visual designer, graphic designer, illustrator, or motion designer, preferably within a product, editorial, or digital media context.

• A portfolio showcasing a diverse range: original illustration works, strong typography and layout skills, and motion pieces that you've developed from concept to finished asset.

• Proficient in After Effects, Lottie (Bodymovin or equivalent), Figma, and the Adobe suite.

• Comfortable with SVG animation and a basic understanding of how motion assets are implemented on the web.

• Experience in creating illustration systems that can be scaled across products or brands — establishing style guidelines, rules, and reusable components rather than generating isolated assets.

• Strong opinions regarding craft, coupled with collaborative instincts to function within a product design team and respond to business and conversion objectives.

• Ability to explain the reasoning behind visual choices in clear language to PMs, engineers, editors, and commercial stakeholders.

• Comfort with rapid iteration in a dynamic environment and the capability to distill direction from broad briefs.

• Experience in a remote-first setting with effective asynchronous communication skills.
