Senior Visual Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Develop high-fidelity UI designs that encompass complete user journeys, various states, exceptions, and responsive experiences.

• Consistently implement enterprise design-system components, patterns, tokens, typography, colors, and visual guidelines.

• Collaborate with the Arabic design specialist to create designs for both English LTR and Arabic RTL experiences.

• Ensure that designs comply with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.

• Create or oversee the development of iconography, illustrations, imagery, motion, and micro-interactions as needed.

• Generate developer-ready specifications and handover documentation.

• Design within the capabilities of platforms like Backbase while identifying any gaps in the design system.

• Suggest new or improved components through the appropriate design governance process.

• Work closely with UX, research, content, design operations, and engineering teams.

• Refine designs based on research findings, stakeholder input, and usability testing results.

• Assist developers during implementation and evaluate completed screens against approved designs.

• Operate within Agile sprint cycles and ensure design delivery is completed ahead of development timelines.

• Document design decisions and the usage of components.

• Mentor junior and mid-level designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in UI/Visual Design, including at least 3 years in enterprise, financial services, or regulated digital products.

• A strong portfolio showcasing complex, responsive, multi-state digital experiences.

• Proficient in Figma, including shared libraries, components, variants, and tokens.

• In-depth knowledge of enterprise design systems and design governance principles.

• Experience with iconography, illustration, motion graphics, and micro-interactions.

• Solid understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA standards.

• Proven experience in creating developer-ready design specifications.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Excellent visual design, communication, and attention to detail skills.

• Experience with Backbase or similar digital banking platforms is a plus.

• Experience in Arabic/RTL design is an advantage.

• Background in GCC/KSA banking or other regulated industries is preferred.

• Knowledge of HTML/CSS or motion design tools such as After Effects, Rive, or Lottie is a bonus.

• A degree or diploma in Design or a related field is preferred.
