This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee and enhance VMware vSphere and ESXi infrastructure.
• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot vSphere and ESXi environments.
• Manage, secure, optimize, and troubleshoot Windows Server infrastructure, including Server 2019, 2022, 2025, and newer versions.
• Administer SAN infrastructure, including NetApp.
• Develop and uphold VM snapshot policies.
• Configure and monitor automated backup solutions such as Veeam.
• Assist in the consolidation of on-premises and hybrid infrastructure into cloud environments.
• Conduct infrastructure assessments, migration planning, workload transitions, and post-migration optimizations.
• Design, implement, maintain, and test solutions for business continuity, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and high availability.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
• Create and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation processes.
• Apply best practices for Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, and other essential networking services.
• Ensure that infrastructure operations comply with security, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor junior team members, facilitate knowledge transfer, and align stakeholders with technical strategies.
• Provide strategic recommendations on infrastructure projects, suggest advanced technologies, and manage vendor relationships.
• Active Public Trust clearance (or higher), adjudicated within the last 5 years.
• 6–8+ years of recent experience as a senior vSphere administrator, with a minimum version of 6.7.
• Expert-level experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting vSphere.
• Expert-level experience in provisioning, configuring, securing, and troubleshooting ESXi hosts.
• Experience in creating and managing snapshot policies.
• Experience in configuring and scheduling automated backups, such as Veeam.
• Experience in administering SAN devices, such as NetApp.
• 5+ years of recent experience as a senior Windows Server administrator.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019, 2022, 2025, or newer.
• Expert-level experience in installing, administering, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
• Experience in performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization of VMware and Windows environments.
• Experience in disaster recovery and high availability.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and networking, including IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP, VLANs, and DNS.
• Experience in regulated government environments is a plus.
