SAP Basis Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and provide support for SAP systems, databases, and operating systems, including Solution Manager, ECC, Fiori, GRC, and related platforms.

• Design SAP technical solutions that facilitate business operations and ensure long-term scalability.

• Execute system refreshes and database copies, implement SAP notes, and deploy support packs, kernel upgrades, and version upgrades.

• Monitor system performance and usage while managing SAP licenses effectively.

• Oversee multiple projects while ensuring the smooth operation of daily systems across various business areas.

• Create and implement SAP user security, roles, and authorization frameworks.

• Collaborate with Functional, Middleware, Development, and Security teams during upgrades, code migrations, and integrations.

• Administer SAP GRC access controls to ensure segregation of duties and adherence to least privilege principles.

• Investigate and resolve SAP security incidents, access violations, and audit findings.

• Develop and manage backup, restore, business continuity, and disaster recovery protocols.

• Regularly test and validate disaster recovery strategies.

• Establish IT governance controls and implement change management procedures.

• Support IT audits, analyze outcomes, and provide necessary remediation.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation regarding system architecture, configurations, maintenance processes, and schedules.

• Stay informed about advancements in SAP Basis and security technologies along with industry best practices.

• Engage in knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related area; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

• At least five (5) years of experience managing SAP technologies as an SAP Basis Administrator within a medium- or large-sized organization.

• Practical experience in SAP security administration, including roles, authorizations, and access control measures.

• Proficiency in installing, configuring, and upgrading SAP systems such as Solution Manager, ECC, Fiori, and GRC.

• Experience in developing and executing backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans for SAP environments.

• Capability to prioritize tasks, work autonomously, and move forward with objectives with minimal supervision.

• Ability to manage multiple projects while demonstrating a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and responsibilities.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Basis administration and its technical architecture.

• Familiarity with SAP GRC Access Control and broader security frameworks.

• Experience in supporting IT audits and meeting regulatory compliance standards (e.g., SOX).

• SAP certifications in Basis, Security, or a related field.

• Experience with cloud-based SAP infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or SAP HEC).

• Background in real estate, homebuilding, retail, or a related sector.

• Strong problem-solving, project management, and process mapping abilities.

• Excellent written, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Comprehensive understanding of SAP technical architecture and landscape management.

• In-depth knowledge of SAP security, authorizations, and GRC principles.

• Working proficiency with SAP Basis tools, Solution Manager, and Microsoft Office applications.
