This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the architecture and administration of Exchange and Exchange Online.
• Design, implement, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot environments for Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange Online.
• Lead the migration process from on-premises/hybrid Exchange to Exchange Online, covering assessment, planning, coexistence, mailbox migration, cutover, validation, and post-migration optimization.
• Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for email security, focusing on security controls, hardening, access controls, mail flow security, and defenses against email-based threats.
• Manage high availability for Exchange, including backup, disaster recovery, recovery testing, and business continuity planning.
• Monitor and enhance the performance of Exchange and Exchange Online.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to messaging, mail flow, connectivity, authentication, and configuration.
• Administer and resolve issues within the supporting Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructure.
• Manage Exchange-related Active Directory attributes, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, and other network dependencies.
• Develop automation and operational tools using PowerShell for administration, reporting, configuration, security, monitoring, and migration tasks.
• Document and standardize operations, architecture, security procedures, migration plans, and operational procedures for the email infrastructure.
• Support a federal contract proposal aimed at consolidating a hybrid environment into the cloud.
• Serve the client as a Senior Email Architect and Administrator during the initial project assignment.
• 6–8+ years of recent experience in a senior Microsoft Exchange architect role, with expertise in Exchange Server SE and Exchange Online.
• Active Public Trust Clearance or higher, adjudicated within the last 5 years.
• Proven hands-on lead architect experience in migrating hybrid/on-premises Exchange to Exchange Online.
• Background in designing, implementing, and managing Exchange within hybrid and cloud environments.
• Experience serving as the primary technical SME for the security design, implementation, testing, and documentation of Exchange/Exchange Online.
• 5+ years of recent experience as a senior Exchange administrator, specifically with Exchange 2013 and Exchange Online.
• Expert-level skills in the administration, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting of Exchange/Exchange Online.
• Knowledge of securing and hardening Exchange, along with backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration (2016+) and PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with Exchange Active Directory attributes, Active Directory management, and networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP, VLANs, and DNS.
• Experience working in regulated government settings is a plus.
