This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Accountable for leading, planning, organizing, and directing the operational functions and performance of the Health & Government Markets SBU.
• Manages the Strategic Business Unit’s (SBU) business and strategic plans to ensure growth, market competitiveness, and sustainable profitability.
• Formulates and implements growth strategies aimed at increasing membership and revenue through relationships with senior executives and C-suite leaders at major health plan partners, particularly focusing on Medicaid and Medicare.
• Identify and recommend objectives across various responsibilities; create specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, along with necessary budget requests and financial projections.
• Review and approve the execution of SBU organizational plans that foster accountability for membership, EBITDA, client retention, and revenue objectives within VSP.
• Keep up-to-date with industry knowledge and relationships to anticipate and respond effectively to market conditions.
• Set the strategic direction for business investment trade-offs, acquisitions, and retention strategies.
• Work in tandem with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and business leaders to create government-specific benefit designs and programs that align with regulatory and market demands.
• Oversee SBU operations and collaborate with cross-functional operations teams to ensure that client operational and compliance requirements are fulfilled.
• Collaborate with executives and other SBU leaders on the strategic direction and advancement of the vision care business.
• Guide sales management in establishing annual objectives and plans, alongside education and management training initiatives.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A decade of experience with a clear trajectory towards senior leadership/management roles, successfully leading and inspiring cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to meet strategic objectives.
• Senior leadership experience in government-sponsored managed care environments, such as Medicare Advantage and managed Medicaid, with a proven track record in managing complex partner relationships, delivery models, and engaging with C-suite executives from major health plans.
• Experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies and benefit solutions within regulated healthcare settings.
• Comprehensive understanding of regulatory, audit, and compliance expectations, with the capability to collaborate effectively with compliance, legal, and operational teams.
• Proven ability to convert health plan requirements into scalable operational, product, and technology solutions within large enterprise environments.
• Clean DMV record.
