This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and implement a thorough corporate affairs strategy that enhances and safeguards the company's image.
• Spearhead the formulation of the company's strategic narrative and ensure consistent messaging to external audiences.
• Propel thought leadership initiatives that position the company and its executives as reliable voices in the government services sector.
• Monitor and proactively address issues that could impact reputation and business operations.
• Oversee corporate communications, media relations, executive messaging, and external communications.
• Foster relationships with national, regional, industry, and trade media outlets.
• Act as a strategic advisor and spokesperson during major corporate events and crises.
• Manage crisis communication planning and response efforts.
• Direct executive visibility strategies, including speaking opportunities and media interactions.
• Develop and implement government affairs strategies that further legislative and regulatory goals.
• Establish connections with elected officials, policymakers, regulators, and government stakeholders at federal, state, and local levels.
• Keep track of legislative, political, and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with legal and business leaders on policy positions and advocacy strategies.
• Lead lobbying efforts, stakeholder education, trade association involvement, and public policy initiatives.
• Ensure that government affairs and public policy activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
• Build strategic coalitions across the industry, government, nonprofit, and community organizations.
• Represent the company in industry forums, associations, and stakeholder coalitions.
• Develop initiatives focused on community engagement, corporate citizenship, and social impact.
• Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team.
• Lead and nurture the Corporate Affairs organization.
• Oversee internal team members, external agencies, consultants, public affairs advisors, and lobbying partners.
• Set KPIs and report on reputation, policy, stakeholder, and communication outcomes to executive leadership and the Board.
• Bachelor's degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Must possess strategic thinking and political acumen.
• Exceptional presence and credibility at the executive level.
• Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities.
• Proficient in building influential relationships.
• Strong judgment in high-pressure circumstances.
• Capable of coalition and consensus-building.
• Ability to provide counsel to senior leaders and challenge conventional wisdom.
• Highly collaborative and focused on the mission.
• Experience in leading Corporate Affairs organizations and managing internal teams, agencies, consultants, public affairs advisors, and lobbying partners.
• Competence in establishing KPIs and reporting outcomes to executive leadership and the Board.
• Willingness to travel frequently, up to 50% of the time.
• Frequent travel, up to 50%.
