This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• The VC Senior Associate plays a crucial role within the investment framework.
• You will manage the entire deal process from initial screening through due diligence, memo preparation, Investment Committee presentation, and SPV closure in collaboration with the Director of Investments.
• Within your first six months, you will begin sourcing deals independently and establish a benchmark for incoming analysts.
• You will take ownership of deals.
• You will oversee due diligence.
• You will manage the relationships that arise from executing a process effectively.
• You will report directly to the Director of Investments at Inflection Club.
• You will regularly interact with the Investment Committee.
• Responsibilities:
• Deal Screening & Pipeline Management
• Manage the top of the funnel by reviewing inbound deals, conducting initial screening calls, and evaluating opportunities based on our investment thesis in AI, robotics, longevity, infrastructure, and digital assets.
• Maintain the deal tracker to provide a comprehensive view of stages, status, IC decisions, and follow-ups for the investment team.
• Assist the Director of Investments in achieving the pipeline target: a minimum of 3 qualified deals presented to the IC per quarter, increasing to 5 in Q3-Q4.
• Develop proprietary deal flow over time through VC syndicates, angel networks, founder relationships, family-office co-investors, and direct outreach to founders.
• Due Diligence & Investment Memos
• Lead the diligence process for specific deals from start to finish using institutional VC frameworks: TAM/SAM, team quality, traction metrics, tokenomics (if applicable), cap table, round terms, and competitive landscape analysis.
• Construct financial models.
• Challenge the assumptions made by founders.
• Conduct reference checks with operators, investors, and customers.
• Create institutional-quality investment memos for each deal presented to the IC, akin to those a top-tier fund would present to its partners.
• Investment Committee Process
• Co-present deals to the IC alongside the Director of Investments.
• Defend the investment thesis.
• Address challenging questions.
• Document the decision-making process.
• Track actions post-IC, including open diligence items, term-sheet revisions, and member-facing materials.
• Maintain the deal tracker with a complete history of stages, status, and IC decisions.
• SPV Execution & Legal Coordination
• Collaborate with external counsel on SPV formation, subscription documents, Reg D 506(c) compliance, and verification of accredited investors.
• Assist with deal product components: term sheets, carry waterfalls, and distribution mechanics.
• Project-manage the closing process by tracking subscriptions, coordinating with members through the Director of Community, and ensuring a smooth closure of the deal.
• Roundtable & Member-Facing Content
• Aid the Director of Investments in preparing for Roundtable discussions: creating materials, showcasing deals, and providing follow-up briefings.
• Produce deal summaries, investment theses, and portfolio updates that members engage with, crafted with the precision of an investor and the clarity of an operator.
• Sourcing (Ramping Through Year 1)
• Begin sourcing deals independently within the first six months.
• Build a personal pipeline of founders, syndicate leads, and co-investors.
• Represent Inflection Club selectively at conferences, demo days, and investor events as you transition into the role.
• Mentoring (As the Team Grows)
• Mentor and review the work of analyst-level hires as the team expands.
• Set standards for memo quality, modeling rigor, and process discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of full-time experience in venture capital, growth equity, private equity, investment banking (TMT, healthcare, or fintech), or a strategic-finance position at a high-growth startup.
• You have led the due diligence on at least one closed deal, not just supported it, and can guide a partner through the model you constructed.
• Strong writing skills are essential. Your investment memos should be the kind that people share, not skim over.
• You can create a financial model from scratch, including cohort analyses, LTV/CAC, scenario builds, cap table waterfalls, and dilution math, without needing a template.
• You engage with primary sources and understand the distinction between a sourced fact and a TechCrunch headline.
• You thrive in a high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment and do not require reminders to follow up.
• You can confidently hold your own in discussions with accredited investors and operators without feeling the need to perform or retreat.
• You are comfortable working at a challenging pace while maintaining quality standards.
• Bonus Points
• Direct experience in underwriting deals related to AI infrastructure, robotics, longevity/biotech, or digital assets.
• Knowledge of tokenomics, on-chain metrics, and crypto cap table structures.
• CFA, MBA, or equivalent credentials are not mandatory but appreciated.
• Established network within Tier-1 VC funds, angel syndicates, or family offices.
• Familiarity with SPV mechanics, Reg D 506(c) compliance, or QSBS / Section 1202.
• An operational background, having built or scaled something prior to entering the investment field.
• Build Your Legacy: This opportunity allows you to create a category-defining company from the ground up, with your vision at the forefront.
• Unfair Advantage: You won't be starting from scratch. You will have immediate access to a built-in distribution channel of thousands of engaged, high-trust members from Day 1.
• Significant Upside: You will receive a competitive base salary, a performance bonus linked to growth, and an equity/carry package that offers you a direct stake in the success of the club.
