This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Develop and uphold the UX/UI development roadmap, aligning with the game's vision by comprehending its product and player requirements, while collaborating closely with the Game Director.
• Actively advocate for UX/UI in conversations, feature prioritization, and goal-setting, ensuring that the UX/UI and player experiences effectively enhance various aspects of the game, including core gameplay mechanics, social features, monetization strategies, live events, and player progression systems.
• Work together with the Art Director to define the aesthetic and feel of the user interface, conveying direction, feedback, and insights to the UX/UI team.
• Produce functional wireframe specifications, user flow diagrams, information architectures, interactive prototypes, and more to foster alignment on the UX/UI vision among cross-functional team members.
• Design from foundational principles by deeply understanding the game genre, analyzing competitive references, participating in playtesting sessions, and collaborating with User Research to identify player needs and motivations while addressing usability challenges.
• Establish and uphold strong UX standards and best practices across the studio in collaboration with the UX/UI department, encompassing UX/UI pillars, design systems, workflows, and component libraries to improve development efficiency, consistency, and quality.
• Cultivate and sustain a healthy UX/UI team through effective management, staffing planning, hiring, and external development management, fostering a culture of collaboration.
• Proven experience leading or directly supporting leadership in an ongoing live service game.
• Exceptional skills in clear written and verbal communication, including Slack messages, presentations, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and design documentation.
• Proficient in articulating UX/UI design decisions and collaborating effectively with cross-disciplinary teams (Game Design, Art, Engineering, Testing, etc.).
• Highly skilled in providing constructive feedback, receiving input, and determining subsequent actions.
• Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar software.
• Highly capable of creating functional prototypes and accompanying technical documentation.
• Strong background in management, strategy, planning, and team building.
• Solid understanding of design and user-centered principles.
• Strong grasp of game development pipelines and technical limitations.
• Experience in bridging the gap between technical specifications and player experiences.
