This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee high-impact foundational, generative, and evaluative research that guides the strategy for Reddit’s consumer product experiences.
• Explore user behaviors, motivations, and needs within critical discovery, consumption, engagement, and contribution experiences.
• Create and implement thorough qualitative research, encompassing interviews, usability testing, concept validation, diary studies, and other methodologies suitable for the product inquiry.
• Combine qualitative insights with quantitative data, behavioral signals, surveys, experimentation, and product metrics to form a comprehensive understanding of user behavior.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, data science, and other cross-functional teams to shape roadmaps, uncover opportunities, and steer product direction.
• Present research findings through clear narratives, actionable insights, and compelling storytelling designed for cross-functional partners and leadership audiences.
• Actively seek research opportunities across a wide-ranging product area and assist teams in linking user insights to product impact.
• A Master’s degree, Ph.D., or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Over 6 years of experience in conducting consumer-focused UX research, ideally as an embedded researcher within a product team.
• Extensive knowledge of qualitative research methodologies and strong judgment on when to utilize various methods throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in mixed-methods research, including the capability to link qualitative insights with quantitative data, product metrics, survey results, or experimentation findings.
• Proven track record of influencing product strategy and achieving product or user experience impact through research.
• Strong product intuition, including comfort with engagement metrics, experimentation, trade-offs, and navigating ambiguous product inquiries.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, with the talent to distill complex findings into straightforward recommendations for cross-functional and leadership audiences.
• Capability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and adjust as product and business requirements change.
