This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee comprehensive research initiatives across the Financial Reporting product suite, from initial discovery to evaluation studies.
• Create and implement qualitative, quantitative, and experimental research strategies that guide product direction, roadmap choices, and customer value.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, Engineering, and executive stakeholders to pinpoint opportunities, mitigate product risks, and convert findings into actionable insights.
• Establish research methodologies for AI-driven experiences, including techniques for assessing trust, usability, adoption, and human-AI interaction.
• Assist in defining evidence-based best practices for evaluating AI feature effectiveness and enhancing Workiva’s research capabilities.
• Act as the primary research collaborator for the Financial Reporting solution area, ensuring continuity in ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Mentor colleagues, share research best practices, and engage in team rituals, presentations, and knowledge exchange.
• Clearly convey research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences and support research operations as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in conducting UX research for digital products within a product-driven environment.
• Experience in researching AI-driven or Generative AI product experiences.
• Proficient in designing research methods for trust, usability, and human-AI interaction.
• Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Experience working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams throughout the product development process.
• Solid understanding of experimentation, survey design, behavioral research, and statistical analysis.
• Proven capability to influence product strategy and roadmap decisions using customer insights.
• Experience mentoring researchers or contributing to a UX Research practice.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and executive audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex theoretical constructs into scalable and measurable product metrics.
• Exceptional proficiency in quantitative methods and psychometrics, including validating and tracking standardized metrics like SUS and UMUX over time.
• Extensive expertise in statistical analysis, weighting benchmarks, and determining suitable sample sizes for experimental designs.
• Advanced skills in data architecture and spreadsheet management, including the use of complex formulas and automation to create the foundational systems that support research scorecards and dashboards.
• High level of analytics literacy, with the ability to combine product telemetry and behavioral data with evaluative research for a comprehensive view of customer experience.
