Senior UX Interface Designer

Posted Jul 22

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the overall aesthetic quality of the product, including typography application, spatial rhythm, depth hierarchy, color restraint, icon quality, and component refinement.

• Ensure the product is perceived as a premium consumer tool rather than a clinical health application, generic fitness tracker, or an enhanced spreadsheet.

• Utilize visual judgment on commercial surfaces such as marketplace interfaces, subscription tiers, and upsell opportunities while maintaining user trust in the system.

• Develop and sustain the authoritative design system in Figma (or its equivalent), including a token library (colors, typography scales, spacing, radius, motion), component library, and identity cell documentation.

• Create the onboarding identity recoloring moment, representing the signature emotional highlight of the product — a real-time ambient palette transition that feels deliberate, deserved, and visually appealing.

• Ensure the primary dashboard identity symbols work harmoniously as both the user's visual identity representation and the gateway to the AI coaching layer.

• Design scoring loops, streak mechanics, and progression tier displays to be motivating and consistent with identity, avoiding generic gamification models.

• Specify and design all animated elements, including the readiness score arc animation, pre-launch cinematic welcome experience, identity ambient recoloring, mission/achievement completion states, AI coaching insight reveals, and score/pillar change revelations.

• Establish motion standards for the entire product, encompassing screen transitions, micro-interactions, press states, loading states, skeleton screens, empty states, and error states.

• Produce implementation-ready motion specifications for various devices, including Bodymovin/Lottie files, timing curves, duration values, and engineering handoff documentation.

• Design action-oriented experiences that instruct users on their next steps, ensuring every screen provides clear guidance instead of passively displaying information.

• Translate complex biomarker, wearable, and AI-generated data into interfaces that are instantly understandable and emotionally impactful, avoiding density, clinical feel, or overwhelming details.

• Create the dashboard priority engine as the product's daily engagement surface, one that resembles a coach rather than a mere notification list.

• Design an AI coaching modal as a unique experience layer, maintaining high-fidelity designs across iOS, Android, and Web simultaneously (design once, build anywhere).

• Ensure a cohesive visual and interaction experience across iOS, Android, and Web, honoring platform-specific behaviors while preserving the integrity of the design system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in UX/UI and product design, including a minimum of 2 years focused on mobile (iOS/Android) within a consumer product environment.

• Must demonstrate:

• - A thorough understanding of color as a functional system that conveys status, identity, causality, and trust.

• - Proficiency in Figma or an equivalent tool, including component libraries, auto-layout, design tokens, prototyping, and developer handoff.

• - Skilled in motion/animation tools (Lottie, After Effects, Framer, or similar), with a proven ability to specify animations for engineering implementation.

• - Comfort with AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable, Cursor, or similar, along with a willingness to quickly adopt new technologies.

• Preferred qualifications:

• - Experience in designing applications related to health, fitness, performance, or biomarkers.

• - Experience with consumer commerce surfaces in contexts sensitive to trust, including in-app purchases, subscription tier presentations, or health/telehealth marketplaces.

• - Familiarity with React Native / Expo design limitations, including safe areas, platform-specific scroll physics, gesture models, and native component behavior.

• - Basic front-end knowledge (TypeScript, React Native, CSS) sufficient to evaluate implementation fidelity and communicate specific deviations from design intent.

• - Experience in designing gamification and progression systems, including achievement states, streak mechanics, leaderboard displays, and tier progression.

• - Familiarity with identity-adaptive or multi-theme design systems, featuring real-time palette shifts, persona-specific visual treatments, and multi-tier token management.

• - Experience with cinematic or motion-rich product moments (brand launch surfaces, product reveal animations, celebration states) and a demonstrated ability to art-direct sound, motion, and timing cohesively.

🏝️ Benefits

• A fast-paced, milestone-driven startup environment with strict shipping deadlines; this role utilizes AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Lovable, and equivalents) to enhance design and development speed.

• Relevant certifications are a plus.
