This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Underwrite risk assessments for restaurant businesses across primary package and excess/umbrella lines of coverage.
• Evaluate and analyze applicants to ensure appropriate risk selection.
• Negotiate pricing and coverage terms with brokers.
• Rate and quote both new and renewal business while complying with underwriting guidelines and rating policies, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
• Underwrite and document all service requests for active policies within designated authority.
• Communicate with brokers to gather necessary information for underwriting risks, respond to inquiries, and address any concerns.
• Collect competitor data and marketing insights to identify potential enhancements to products and pricing strategies.
• Engage in various company projects and new initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of underwriting experience with Commercial Package (ISO-based).
• Previous experience in underwriting for restaurants is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ISO-based rating systems.
• Possession of a Property and Casualty Insurance license.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, with excellent organizational abilities, including time management and prioritization skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Travel may be required for team and broker meetings.
• Summer Fridays (Leave at 2:00 PM all Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day)
