This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +2 more states.
β’ Underwrite group ancillary lines while assessing moderate to high levels of risk and complexity for clients with primarily 5,000+ lives in the National Accounts ancillary lines market.
β’ Oversee an existing portfolio of business that includes moderate to complex cases, acting as the primary contact and internal consultant for both management and external parties.
β’ Serve as a key resource within the underwriting team by providing guidance to colleagues; mentor on a one-on-one basis, facilitate classroom training, and collaborate with leadership to identify training needs and gaps within the Mid-Market underwriting teams, field office sales, and service partners.
β’ Engage in project work as required.
β’ A bachelorβs degree in business or a related field is preferred, with additional experience considered in lieu of formal education.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in Life and Disability underwriting within the mid-market (1,000+) sector is strongly preferred.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Demonstrated ability to present confidently during pricing discussions.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
