This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Accountable for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability within the defined authority and in line with divisional goals.
• Evaluates submissions, analyzes risk quality, and establishes terms in accordance with company policies.
• Implements underwriting rules, guidelines, rating manual regulations, and applicable insurance laws.
• Provides recommendations for risks that exceed established authority limits.
• Inputs, manages, and oversees accounts utilizing underwriting analysis and desktop systems.
• Employs independent judgment and initiative to further business objectives.
• Crafts effective communications internally and externally regarding underwriting matters.
• Builds a portfolio of commercial surety business with selected brokers/agents while fostering strong business relationships with external clients to attract and maintain profitable business.
• Engages with producers and key stakeholders to sustain current accounts, assess exposures, cultivate and uphold business relationships, and pursue new opportunities in alignment with divisional objectives.
• A minimum of 6 years of commercial experience is essential.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills are necessary to build and enhance customer relationships and effectively market products.
• A sales-oriented mindset to identify and capitalize on pipeline opportunities that support new business objectives and budget targets.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to analyze business problems critically, make recommendations, and propose viable solutions.
• High-energy self-starter who is resilient and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Demonstrates effective time management, organizational, and desk management skills.
• Goal-driven with a focus on achieving objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new applications are required.
• Travel is necessary, along with a valid driver's license.
