Senior Underwriter, Commercial Habitational

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Underwrite and generate new habitational accounts, ensuring proper risk selection, negotiation of terms and conditions, and precise account pricing.

• Track market trends and competitive activities to assist the organization in anticipating shifts and maintaining a leading position in the market.

• Engage with brokers and partner with key agencies to enhance new business production and gain insights into the commercial habitational insurance sector.

• Ensure that all issued policies align with carrier and reinsurance standards.

• Aid in the training and development of fellow underwriters and underwriting assistants to guarantee adherence to guidelines, sound underwriting judgment, and consistent execution of underwriting procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Marketing, or Engineering, or equivalent years of experience.

• Experience in commercial property underwriting within an insurance carrier, MGA/program administrator, or agency/brokerage.

• Preferred experience in E&S commercial property underwriting.

• Demonstrated urgency in resolving issues and meeting broker and market service expectations.

• Above-average technical proficiency with a proven ability to work efficiently across various systems, tools, and digital platforms.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Willingness to travel approximately 1-2 times per quarter to meet with agents and/or attend team meetings.
