Senior Underwriter, Commercial Habitational

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Underwrite and generate new habitational accounts, ensuring appropriate risk selection, negotiation of terms and conditions, and precise account pricing.

• Keep track of market trends and competitive dynamics to assist the organization in anticipating changes and maintaining a leading position in the market.

• Engage with brokers and partner with key agencies to drive new business production and gain insights into the commercial habitational insurance sector.

• Ensure that all issued policies adhere to carrier and reinsurance standards.

• Contribute to the training and development of fellow underwriters and underwriting assistants to ensure compliance with guidelines, sound underwriting judgment, and consistent implementation of underwriting procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Marketing, or Engineering, or equivalent years of experience.

• Experience in commercial property underwriting within an insurance carrier, MGA/program administrator, or agency/brokerage.

• Preferred experience in E&S commercial property underwriting.

• Demonstrated ability to act with urgency to resolve issues and meet the service expectations of brokers and the market.

• Above-average technical skills with a proven ability to work efficiently across various systems, tools, and digital platforms.

• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Willingness to travel approximately 1-2 times per quarter to visit agents and/or attend team meetings.
