This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Execute on-site commissioning services for new transformer installations, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades.
• Collaborate with team leader(s) to manage on-site resources, including assigned crew members and subcontracted services.
• Conduct daily morning tailboard meetings with crew members or customer representatives to discuss the day's activities.
• Recognize and report any EHS/HSE concerns related to the job scope.
• Aid in the operation and management of vacuum processing rigs and related equipment.
• Assist with or supervise the field testing or commissioning of related units.
• Engage in the development and enhancement of standard procedures related to transformer installation and maintenance services.
• Provide technical support in preparing and submitting technical documents.
• Collaborate with both external and internal customers to develop inspection criteria related to transformer services.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• At least 5 years of field experience, specifically in mechanical and/or electrical contexts related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment such as high voltage breakers, switchgear, and associated devices.
• Preference for a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Power Transformers or HV/MV apparatus.
• Candidates with mechanical experience from technical training institutes or military service, along with proven field experience, are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with Doble and/or Omicron test equipment.
• Process-oriented mindset with an emphasis on detailed work procedures.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient with IT/computer applications, including experience with various software programs.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Possession of NETA certification or other relevant Commissioning/Training Certification.
